November rocked! booya!

November = awesomest month ever. Yeah, it was my birthday, I'm 22, Thanksgiving was cool, whatever... but yeah. I went to two Hanson concerts, one in Cincinnati and one in Milwaukee. Go ahead and laugh, get it out of your system. I'll just lay back and smile knowing that you are the fool cause you don't know what you're missing! Here are some recaps of my experiences :)

!!!CINCI!!!

Jena and I went to Cincinnati on November 13, which was, at the time, the most insane experience of my life. We arrived at Bogarts around 11:30 a.m. to wait in line all day so we could be close to the stage. In many ways, this was a mistake...

It started out lovely. We met these four awesome chicks from West Virginia that we ended up hanging out with for the rest of the day. We had some great times chasing Hanson's tour bus and freaking out together. It's really nice to meet other people who share your rare obsessions!

But as the day went on, things got worse. The homeless people were continuously harassing us, a 50-year old Axle Rose wannabe tried to hit on me and Jena, a grateful Mexican walked in on me while I was changing inside a Gold Star chili restaurant (and didn't leave immediately even though I screamed), an extremely rude man who lived next to Bogarts decided to move furniture out of his apartment 15 minutes before the doors opened went off on all of us for standing in front of his door, and, this one's the best: some fat boyfriend who was there with his girlfriend elbowed me as hard as he could, sending me into the street practically, so his girlfriend could get through the madness once the doors opened. This resulted in my first-ever "cussing out" of someone.

NUTS.

It wasn't much better once we went inside. Anyone who's been to Bogarts knows that its like, the shittiest place to ever exist. We stood in there like packed sardines for an hour before the first opening band came out, that was okay I guess, I didn't really pay attention. Then Pat McGee Band came out, and, as many of you know, I became instantly obsessed. Well, I didn't become obsessed then, but I was like "hey...they rock!"

Then of course Hanson came out, but I won't bore all you non-fans with my rambling about how EFFING AMAZING the concert was in so many ways. Let's just say, after it was over, I was ready to never take any shit from anyone again for liking them. Cause they are the best. And it makes me feel cool and smart to know I'm one of the few who realize it. Here are some pics for my friends that care:

!!!Sporadic Road Trip 2005 to Milwaukee!!!

November 19 was the funnest damn day of my life. Jena, her friend Ashley (who became our friend too!), Kara, her friend Megan (who also became our friend, obviously) and I all went up to Milwaukee for another Hanson concert. Many thought I was crazy for wanting to go to two shows, but as I found out from being a Hanson.net member, two shows ain't NOTHIN. Especially compared to my best Aussie friend, Melissa, who spent her entire life savings to fly to the states and attend 17 shows!

The 8 hour drive up there was not bad at all. In fact, it flew by, even though we did get lost...twice. But how could any of us be bitter since we got to observe the amber waves of grain and drive through Michael Jackson's hometown?

DESTINATION: Our hotel, THE AMBASSADOR:
The used-to-be Jeffrey Dahmer playground!

So we check in to our hotel and rested for a few minutes. I had to get ready to leave ASAP because, as most of you know, I got a freakin' MEET&GREET pass that also gave me the privelege of being on the front row, and I had to get their ultra-early for no reason at all. Basically, the other meet&greeters and I stood outside for 2 hours and almost died of hypothermia. But I'm seriously not complaining, because the opportunitiy was beyond worth it. Behold:

Taylor's bony ass makes me look fat :(

Bascom Hill, the first opening band, was pretty good. I was too busy looking forward to Pat McGee Band the whole time they played though. PMB finally came out and rocked hard. For a few minutes, I stopped thinking about the fact that Hanson was about to come out and enjoyed the performance, and that is saying alot.

The Hanson concert was equivalent to an intense religous experience, aside from the fact my organs ruptured from being slammed into the barricade all night. At times, I seriously thought I wouldn't make it out alive. However, I was at peace with that because I can now die happy after that show. The setlist was OFF THE HOOK (yes, I just said that), and Rock N Roll Razorblade sent me into a euphoric state that I don't think I will ever experience again... at least not until the next Hanson concert.

I'm telling you! All you people that think I'm crazy: see Hanson live. Even if you aren't blown away like I am, you will leave with a more positive opinion of them than you already had. I promise. Here are a few pics :)

Afterwards my body was practically dead, but I was on a post-concert high so I ignored it. After standing in the freezing cold by the buses afterwards, and seeing Zac and Taylor load up the bus and ignore everyone for the most part, Kara, Megan and I decided to seek warm shelter at Quik Pik across the street.

I ate a shitty hotdog and downed a Dr. Pepper and a Dassani. I wanted to throw up.

Afterwards we went to the bar downstairs in our hotel so I could get a Sprite to calm my throw-uppiness feeling, and so Kara could get a drink also. That's when we noticed effin' Pat McGee and Johnny (the keyboardist) were sitting down there drinking. We tried to play it off like we didn't notice them, but it was so obvious we did, and plus Pat recognized me (I think) since I was on the front row, so anytime I'd look over there he'd be looking right back. It was awkward/nuts. We finally started talking to them and they were super nice and laid back. Me, Kara, Megan and Therese (one of my M&G girls and my "concert partner" for the most part) ended up hanging out down there with them for a while. Before we left, Pat bought all of us shots, and even though I was still feeling nauseous, I decided to take it since it's not everyday a rockerball buys me a drink. After I did I felt the chunks rising, so I nonchalantly excused myself and ran outside to barf. It was glamorous.

I came back in, and we said our goodbyes and thanked them and stuff. That's when a drunken Pat McGee came up to me to compliment my hat (for the second time), to which I replied "you already told me that, but thanks", and he responds "oh... well then, you have really beautiful eyes too. And lips. But... I'm not hitting on you, I swear!"

Oh, Pat. How you reeked of wine!

I bought their CD anyways :)

We finally went back up to our hotel room and woke up Jena to tell her about what we had been doing. (BTW, her and Ashley were completely passed out by 10:00. Apparently they started drinking at 6 and were completely gone soon after. I never understood why people wait so late to start drinking...now I do!)

Then Kara, Jena and I decided to go for a little drive through downtown Milwaukee, but my deadness took over hardcore during that, so we went back to the hotel and passed out. There was one final conversation that is kind of a blur now, I just remember something about safety pins.

The next day we had breakfast in our hotel (it was tasty) and got right back on the road to head home. We were pretty delerious by this point, especially Kara and Megan...

We did make a necessary stop at the Mars Cheese Castle to stock up on some of Wisconsin's finest:

And that was pretty much it. Of course that's the trip in a nutshell and there were countless memories made, but this post is already way too long!
